ByteDance issued a statement saying that the news about exploring the disposal of its short-form video platform TikTok is untrue and that the company does not have any plans to sell it.
Earlier, The Information had reported that ByteDance was exploring the option of selling a majority stake in TikTok's U.S. business, but the deal would not include the algorithms that recommend videos to TikTok users.
